It's that time of year!!!


Christmas time means a plethora of family-friendly events in Jefferson County! From House Springs to Festus, and beyond, there is something for everyone!!! Finding a list of events all in one place is impossible, so I've done my best to round up some of the things to do that I've run across on social media! I'll list everything in order of date, so that it will be easier for you to follow! If you know of an event that isn't on my list, feel free to send me a msg here or on Facebook so that I can add it!

Meert Tree Farm Opening Day

Opening day is November 25th, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM

Located in Festus, I highly recommend Meert Tree Farm for your live Christmas trees! It's a wonderful farm and the Country Store is full of Holiday Cheer! Be sure to take your camera and document your day there!

Lenhard Family Light Show

Opening day is November 26th at 7:00 PM


The Lenhard Family Light Show will be making its Christmas Show debut on Saturday, Nov. 26 and then remaining at Crites Park in Festus through Jan. 1, 2023. There is no charge to watch this show. Tune your radio to 99.7 to hear the songs that they lights are dancing too! There is a donation box near the light display whose proceeds benefit the Jefferson County Rescue Mission.

The De Soto Holiday Home Tour

November 26th, 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM

The theme for 2022 is Old Time Christmas Movies, and we are delighted to bring you a wide range of homes and properties on the tour. You will see a range of differing architecture, building materials, and decorations. The owners are truly unique as well, and they have graciously agreed to open their homes to you for the tour. Some homes will have over 10 decorated trees and others will have some very unique décor.

Twin Cities Christmas Parade

November 28th, 7:00 PM

Kick off your Christmas holiday at the Twin City Area Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade. This year’s theme, “'Twas The Night Before Christmas” will set the tone for a memorable holiday season.

The parade viewing starts at 7 PM at N. Taylor & Bailey Rd, in Crystal City, proceeds to Festus Main Street, and concludes on West Main in front of the Festus Library.

Kimmswick Cookie Walk

December 1st - 4th

Visit Kimmswick for our Christmas Festival and Cookie Walk! Historic buildings will be decorated in Christmas attire. Come see Carolers and participate in other activities while luminaries light your way through Kimmswick during our annual Christmas Festival! Cookie Walk Tickets must be purchased!


De Soto Tree Lighting

December 2nd, 6:00 PM - De Soto City Hall

It's the best kind of hometown Christmas! Join the Chamber for the Annual Tree Lighting at 6pm at City Hall. The DHS Choir will be performing, Santa will be reading a book, then local Pastor Ron Kulp will be speaking about the true meaning of Christmas before the lighting the tree. Afterwards, stroll down Main Street for the Nativity Walk and stop in your favorite shops for extended Christmas shopping hours until 8pm. Don't forget to visit Santa at the Arlington Event Center Craft Fair where Journey Community Church will be roasting s'mores, Heartland Realty will have a balloon artist, State Farm Agent Sandy Meurer will have their Good Neigh Bear visitng with guests, and Main Key Real Estate Agent Andi Tidwell will have an ornament making table!

The 94th Annual Christmas Parade on Main Street! This years' theme is "Elf on a Shelf", bring the family out for the fun!

Downtown De Soto Cookie Walk

December 9th, 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Tour amazing De Soto businesses, indulge in tasty cookies, collect recipes and stamps, and win fun prizes!

Pet Night with Santa!

December 13th, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM - De Soto Library

Santa? Here? I KNOW HIM!!! Get photos of your furry babies with the ever awesome Santa! Bring your phone or camera and a bribe to get your very good doggo to cooperate!
