It's That Time Of Year...

My first reminder that Missouri schools were starting back up was en email ad about tax free weekend. Honestly, the back-to-school chaos escaped my mind completely! I'm not sure how, we moved the middle college kid back to his dorm, so it must have been at the back of my mind, hiding somewhere! Like most parents, I had a love/hate relationship with anything "back to school" related. It was always fun to take them shopping, but frustrating when you couldn't find that elusive 3 prong purple pocket folder from the supply list.

He was ready to get back to learning!
Look at this beautiful vintage school desk!

A Different Kind Of Learning...

When our youngest was little, we got bit by the travel bug in a big way. We spent about half of 2019 on the road and it was awesome! We decided that homeschool may be an option for us, so that we could continue to travel. Then 2020 happened and most schools went virtual anyway, so we decided to give homeschool a try. It was 100% the right decision for him, and for our family! We have a good balance of homeschool, online learning, and clubs to keep him happy and learning! I would say that the only thing missing is a yearbook, so this year I decided to make our own! We do so many fun projects and have some wonderful adventures during our school year, I've committed to keeping my camera close by at all times. At the end of the year I will put together his first yearbook!

Building These Memories...

On Facebook, I recently asked for opinions on which photo to use for the yearbook cover. I loved hearing stories about yearbook experiences from all of you. Sadly, all of my yearbooks have disappeared over the many years and the many moves. (Maybe it isn't that sad, can you say mall bangs and bulky Guess sweatshirts?!?) As a professional photographer, I embrace the importance of keeping those memories to cherish for years to come. I hope that, someday, I am able to sit with a grown Malcolm as we look through these yearbooks and recall all of the good times from these happy, chaotic years.
